Hey everyone,
I haven’t posted nearly as much as I have meant to lately, so for that I appologize.
But on to the news. I’ve been back from Katimavik(my 9 month cross canada journey) for just over a week now, and it feels great! I’ve already gotten back into a good schedule which includes going back to school, and getting back into the music/entertainment scene.

This evening I went to the monthly mess for indyish with Emma. The night had lots of really great tallent, some of which included the hillarious DeAnne Smith, and the video genius VJ Sakara.
But I can deffinately say that the highlight of the night was the closing act ”The Coward and The Pelican“. The band consists of presently 6 but soon to be 5 highly talented young musicians. They combine tons of different instruments to create a really great, and new sound. They all have great voices, and the show is very multi-faceted. Every member of the band played at least 2 intruments and didn’t do it half ass-edly either. I thouroughly enjoyed their performance and can’t wait for their next show.

On another note, if you’ve been reading Emma’s blog or talking to me lately you probably know that i’m going to be off to Toronto for 7 days coming up soon! That will be a week full of plenty of good tunes, and good times! And great encouters with some of my favortite people on this planet.

Keep checking back for updates on all the latest and greatest!
Over and Out

So since i’m only finaly dedicating my self to regular bloggage now, i’m just going to write a list of things I would’ve written about if I had, had a blog at the time.

Sept. 15th and 16th 2006 -
Were two of the best nights of my life. Rob Szabo, Dave Martel, and Lindy Vonpfjord did a double bill at the yellow door coffee house (a place that I have held dear to my heart for many years) and that entire weekend we had brunches, and lunches, and dinners, and sooo many good time were to be had.

Oct. 20th-23rd -
This was my first time to Toronto… my first time traveling anywhere by myself… and one of the greatest weekends of my life. I’ll admit the weekend started with a few hurdles to overcome, like not being able to stay where I expected to, and so trying to find an open hostel. I also had issues finding my way to the impossibly far Missisauga. But in the end it all worked out.
Friday Night I saw Sean Pinchin and Peter Katz perform at the ESC Sound Lounge and it was a great night. My first time seeing Sean Live, and my first time seeing Peter Perform “forgiveness” live.
The next morning I woke up to find that it was already 11 am (checkout time at the hostel) so I jumped out of bed, gathered my things crazy quickly and gave Lindy Vopnfjord a call. He and his fiance Sally weren’t up to much so we all went out to brunch. It was honestly some of the best breakfast food i’ve ever had, and if you ever have a chance you should go eat at Auntie’s and Uncle’s (74 Lippincott Street Toronto(416) 324-1375)
I then hopped on a bus to Kitchener, and finaly met Christen Latham. Christen is a fabulous woman that i’ve been talking to on the net for quite some time now, and she also offered me a place to stay in Kitchener.
So that night we went to the Starlight and saw another great show! with Rob Szabo, and Peter Katz.
Both guys had full band sets and they were awesome as always! Sunday morning I just hung out with
Christen and her Huband Mike and her beautiful baby girl Wynter, and then just headed back to Montreal… All I could do during the entire bus ride was take it all in.

Oct. 26th 2006 -
Jason Bajada, Amanada Mabro, and Peter Katz played a fabulous show at the Sala Rossa.
It was a great night of fun. Tons of energry! And I got to see Peter and his brother Andrew sing “I Do” together, which was deffinately a beautiful experience.

Nov. 9th -
The Corduroys, Paper Moon, and Lindy Vopnfjord played at Casa Del Popolo. I did Door, and Merch, sold lots of c.d’s, and had ton’s of fun! It was the first time I saw Paper Moon and was deffinately hooked. They have great sound, and a great performance. As the night went on in an odd sequence of events I also ended up agreeing to 4 people staying at my place for the night. So that equaled in total 6 people staying in a tiny tiny appartment… but it was all okay because I love each and every one of those people We had late night poutine at the main, and late night discussions about how much we love music! It all ended the next morning with Emma and I having an absoloutly awesome breaky at Beauty’s restaurant all thanks to the generous Lindy treating us to it.

Dec. 2nd 2006-
I left for the 9 month volunteer program called Katimavik.

Jan. 13th 2007 -
I got 48 hours off from Katimavik and got to go back to Montreal for the weekend!
On Saturday night Ana Miura, Lindy Vopnfjord w/Sally Jone Panavas, Jason Bajada played the Yellow Door, and it was a great show. Ana Miura has a such a sweet voice that’s just sooo easy to listen to. And Lindy put on a hillarious show with Sally. That man is soo full of jokes and stories, it’s always a treat to watch him live. The night ended with Jason Bajada, who’s set often seems full of sad songs, but somehows always manages to put a smile of my face. The weekend was also full of seeing my friends, and taking all of montreal in for one last time for the next 8 months.

April 24th 2007 -
Rob Szabo and Mike Alviano dropped by in my temporary home town of Williams Lake, British Columbia to play a show at the Limelight Theatre… Unfortunately there wasn’t much of a turn out despite my weeks of efforts. But none the less it was a great show, and the guys loved the venue, which I was glad to hear. They also managed to make a few CD sales, which is always great news. This was also a historical night since it was the first time that I ever got the clapping for the song “Johnstown Kids” right during a live performance. The next morning I shared a scrumptious brunch at the Gecko Tree Cafe with Mike and Rob, before they set off for Fort St.John.

So those are all of the wonderful shows i’ve been to since last October. Unfortunately in Katimavik there isn’t much time for shows, nor are there really any to see in the communities i’ve been in. But I look forward to writing about all my future great nights when I get back home.
